Challenges

YesStyle’s navigation generates an infinite amount of URLs, causing duplication across facets of its categories, and an extremely high number of low-quality pages. Category tree was also random and there’s a lot of cannibalization with keywords they’re targeting.

Strategy

We introduced a new department structure from 2000+ categories to around 400, and utilized AJAX to prevent crawling of filtered URLs that didn’t have SEO value. We also fixed canonicalization of pages applied best practices on paginated content.
